Definition:

Melancholy, or sadness, is state characterized by sorrow or unhappiness. It is characterised by low levels of enthusiasm and low levels of eagerness for activity. It can be a depressed mood, unhappiness, or a relatively minor downturn in mood that may last only a few hours or days

Analysis:
