As you might know, the Best Pictures movie days serve two purposes. One, because it's seasonal and oh my, how appropriate. Two, because I've spent years collecting the Best Picture winners and need to justify this stupid hobby somehow.

This year's 86th Academy Awards are set to happen on Sunday, March 2. We will spend Saturday, March 1 watching nothing but those films that have managed to claim the illustrious Oscar for Best Picture.

We will have all of the past 85 winners on hand. The vast majority of them are pretty good and considered classics to some degree or another, so there's relatively little concern about being saddled with a pile of cinematic stinkers. But that's all we're doing. There will not be an Oscar party on the 1st because that's just absolutely awful.
