Every year since 1928 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have presented awards to each year's top movies in a variety of categories and to the personalities involved in making them. The pinacle of these is the Academy Award for Best Picture of which, to date, eighty-four films have received this honor. This is a list that you can find printed in a billion and a half different places across the Internet and I'm replicating it here for my own completionist's sake. For the most part it represents a decent record of great movies worth seeing but, like any list that doesn't offer the ability for reconsideration in hindsight, it does contain a few duds. I'm looking at you, Cimarron.
