Robespierre's Story

Robespierre and the Jacobans was filmed without the use of a written script, using only a printout of the basic history behind the story. This means that without the film, I have no way of posting a totally accurate script. But thankfully, the film used title cards, such as those employed in silent films. The title cards gave a quick run down of the scene before it happened. Using these title cards (which were written on notebook paper), I can attempt to piece together a basic script. It's not exact, but a pretty decent representation. Everything the characters say is simply how I remember it. Marat's speech is much longer that what's here, but I don't remember the rest of it. "Robespierre Meets The Jacobans and Marat (and lives)" Robespierre comes up a flight of stairs with his trusty kitty in his arms. Two French women (and Jacobans) greet him. ROBESPIERRE Bonjour. JACOBAN CITIZENS Bonjour. Robespierre also runs across Marat. MARAT I am Marat! I organized a newspaper called Friend of the People. "Robespierre Elected to Committee of Public Safety!!" Robespierre joyously gives "victory" sign. "REIGN OF TERROR BEGINS!! :(" "Marat Is Assassinated" Marat walks along casually, waving at people. An assault rifle pokes out a window and opens fire. Marat collapses. (NOTE: This is totally wrong, to say the least. Marat was soaking in his bathtub when Corday assassinated him. Marat had some sort of skin problem and had to be in the tub when he took his supposed "interview". Corday killed him there. Also, when we did this, MacAfee didn't say anything about Corday being a woman. So, I unwittingly played another woman in a film by MacAfee!) "A Conspiracy Begins" Two Jacoban Conspirators are discussing their plot. One is upside down and frilly haired while the other is cradling a gun and flipping a coin. JACOBAN CONSPIRATOR #1 Let's kill Robespierre! JACOBAN CONSPIRATOR #2 Uh huh. "'Here I Come to Save the Day!' ~Mighty Mouse" "Robespierre dies at the guilliteenager; Jacoban Club banned" "Free Drinks for those who had family members die in the Reign of Terror" "ROBESPIERRE'S HEAD DANCES!!! :)" Robespierre's bodiless head bounces around merrily.
